Lucky dogs
The
fairy tale doesn't always end with the hero/heroine riding off into the sunset but these dogs
have been given another chance. We don't always know where they go, but when we do hear
anything, we will try to pass on the news. This month 21 dogs found new homes, many of them
going to agility homes so watch out them on the show circuit.
Dogs are featured in alphabetical
order.

MAX
History:
Max came to me as an
unwanted pet. The previous owner had been told by a couple of rescue
centres it would probably be best if she had him pts.

Max is a very bright
little dog who has not had much training, but is responsive to the voice and food. I have
taken him to agility classes and he responded well. Max
is also very good with other dogs.

PEACHES
History: Peaches
was rescued from a farm where she had been kept tied up on a short chain.
She did go to a home on trial
for a couple of hours, but fell out with the two other bitches in the house. Two days
later Peaches came into season, so we think this may have been the cause of the trouble
with the other bitches. Since was collected her she has been with two male dogs and is
fine with them.
Description:
Peaches is a red Merle bitch with a nice temperament.
Rehoming criteria:
At the moment Peaches isn't into
a ball or anything. She has never been taught to play. It's a
shame for such a young dog, so pet home or agility home and someone with lots of
patience.

Happy Ending:
Roly no longer needs a new home as we have decided to keep him ourselves. He was only
supposed to be staying as a foster dog but he is such a complete character and such a
gorgeous boy that we simply can not part with him so he will be staying with us
permanently. We have four other collies so he has plenty of companions to play with and I
have already started some basic agility training with him so hope to be competing towards
the end of the 2009 season or the start of 2010. (03/01/09) |
ROLY
History:
Roly was surrendered into a pound because he became too
active for his family.
Description:
He is a gorgeous collie with bright eyes and a really loving temperament.
Roly has had no rules in his life and was most likely simply
left to his own devices outside. However he is a very quick learner and will work
willingly for both toys and food and is highly motivated. He is typical highly active
collie and just wants to please. All these traits will make Roly
a fantastic agility or flyball dog for the right person.
Rehoming
criteria: Because
of his very active nature Roly will need a very active home
with someone who will do agility and/or flyball with him. He
needs an experienced Collie home and will be rehomed with a
rehoming contract.
Child friendly: Yes

Roly out of the pound.

Happy
Ending: Susie
has found her forever home. She now resides in Scotland, with a lovely couple who totally
understand a collies needs. They are both retired, have a house with a 600ft garden, lots
of countryside around them for her walkies and go on walking hols with the dog. So I
think all will be well for this special girl
now. (01/01/09) |
SUSIE
History:
Poor Susie was beaten and tormented in her first 2 homes and her third home wasn’t much
better either. Susie is in a foster home at present.
Description: Susie is a tri coloured,
bitch and is 3 years old. She has a lovely nature and a truly fantastic
personality. This little dog gets on well with people, dogs and travels well in my van.
Susie loves to run about playing with the other dogs fine and
loves to play fetch. She is also very obedient off lead.
Rehoming
criteria: Susie needs a stable, loving home, were she can have the life
she has missed out on so far. She would not want to be left long hours alone, as this has
happened in previous homes. Previous collie experience is preferred.
Child friendly:
Not been around
children as far as we know, so 14 yrs upwards would be best. Lower would be considered
depending on the circumstances.
Able to live with cats: No
Age: 3 years
Sex: Bitch
Neutered: Yes
Vaccinated: Not yet
Micro-chipped:
Yes
Flea sprayed & wormed: Yes
Cost: £60 to cover costs.
