Medical update on Keith Powell - Just to let everyone know that Keith's bleeding has slowed down a lot and he is a lot more stable. The doctors still don't know where it is coming from but do seem to think that it is healing itself. For friends of Keith Powell, I have some bad news. He seems to have taken a turn for the worse. He has some internal bleeding, The doctors are quite concerned. He was rushed to surgery and it is all quite touch and go. The surgery didn't go ahead as the bleed stopped on its own, but it is still unknown what caused it and so it is possible it may come back. He is now in a high dependency unit where he is being monitored, but is currently stable. He has woken up a little and seems to know who my family are etc, but it is a set back in his progress, and physically he is still on very rocky ground. As the doctors don't know more there isn't much more I can tell you, but I will keep you updated with any new changes. I also need to pass on a request from the nurses that people don't phone the hospital to ask about Keith, as they cannot give out any information - and I suspect have been a bit inundated with calls from his many friends! I will try and keep everyone updated as best I can. regards, .   - Abby    (01 September 2008)

Sunny Scunny 6th Summer Show - Many thanks to the judges, scribes and club members, Paws4Agility & Hinckley for working so hard to make this years show go so well. We had higher than normal entries this year over 400 dogs through the five rings, and we were still completely wiped up and sipping the wine by 5.30pm.

Well done to the lucky competitors that were placed in the classes, especially Linda Hutchinson with her young dog. Surprised she didn’t need an extra vehicle to take all her trophies and rosettes home. Really well done to the Scunthorpe Pick Pockets and Scunthorpe Steelers, who had a clean sweep in the Flyball.

On a sad note, this will be the last show that Trev and I will be involved in. We are moving to sunny climes at the end of the year. Thank you to the many well wishes we received over the weekend, and to Jackie Smith for arranging the presentation to us at the end of Saturday’s classes. We have made many friends in our many years of Agility, and we will miss them.   - Trevor & Cathy Candy, retiring Chair and Treasurer    (04 August 2008)
