Pictures from the collecting ring

Every year we have to promise the nice people in the Olympia Press Office that we won't stay backstage for very long after the dog agility events - just long enough to talk to some of the competitors and snap a few pictures. And every year, it's the same. The handlers memorise the course and talk nervously to their grooms, waiting nervously for their turn. The dogs know something special is happening. Most are alert, listening to the horses, cannons (yes, cannons) and the announcer, who appears to know scant little about agility, leading a cheering section of 5,000 screaming little Thelwell girls. Here is what the camera captured inside and outside the arena.
